Colibri Farm Collection is inspired by the vision of Chef Denise Portillo, known as The Chicana Farmer. With over 25 years as a chef and 27 years as a florist, Denise has masterfully combined her love of food and flowers to create something truly unique. Her journey spans owning successful cafes, catering companies, and flower shops that have served major brands like Nike and Bravo TV. Yet, her deepest passion lies in reconnecting with the earth, growing her own food, and crafting creations that honor the seasons of life.

Denise’s work is grounded in sustainability, drawing from her deep respect for the earth’s bounty. Colibri Farm Collection offers everything from gourmet salts and organic coffees to artisanal baked goods and seasonal floral arrangements. Each product reflects her dedication to creating something beautiful and meaningful for your table and home.

Beyond her creations, Denise is the founder of Marina’s Ruby Slipper, a nonprofit supporting single working mothers in mental health, nutrition, and physical wellness. Through this, she launched the Chicana Farmer EduPlate, a program that introduces urban gardens to K-12 schools, teaching the next generation the importance of sustainable gardening and growing their own food.
